FAQs

Is it easy to get a CSC scholarship?

Scholarships reward excellent students — with strong academics and a correct process, your chances improve. But it is genuinely competitive.

Do I have to pay fees?

You can apply yourself (university application fee only). Agencies charge for their service, not the scholarship itself. No one can guarantee an award.

Can I reapply if I've had a CSC scholarship before?

Yes — but you cannot hold two government scholarships simultaneously.

Application Timeline

When you apply matters as much as how you apply.

Spring Intake

March Start

Apply: September — November

Fewer programs available than Autumn intake
Less competitive — better odds for scholarship awards
Good for students who missed the Autumn deadline

Autumn Intake

September Start

Apply: February — April

The main intake — widest program selection
Most scholarships are only offered for Autumn start

Key Advice

1.Apply early — universities process files on a rolling basis. First-come often means first-served.
2.Academic transcripts must be officially translated into English or Chinese. Uncertified copies are rejected.
3.Your personal statement and study plan carry significant weight — generic plans fail.
4.Some scholarships require a supervisor confirmation letter before the university will process your application.
5.Dual applications (CSC + university scholarship) are allowed and recommended — apply to both whenever possible.
